Ameera Sultana Khan

About Me

I’m Ameera Khan, a DevOps engineer by profession, a standup comedian by passion, and an activist at heart.

My life is a unique story that navigates through the complexities of technology, the power of humor, and the depth of advocacy, all while being deeply rooted in my identity as a Muslim South Asian American transgender woman.

By day, I am a DevOps engineer, where I find joy in solving complex problems and creating seamless workflows through technology. The world of coding and system automation is not just my profession; it’s where I turn challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation. By night, I transform into a standup comedian, weaving stories that tickle the funny bone while touching the heart, driven by my belief in the power of laughter to unite and heal.

My activism is deeply personal, rooted in my experiences as a transgender Muslim woman navigating a world that often struggles to understand the beauty of diversity. Through my work with the Funny Asian Women Kollective (FAWK) and the El-Tawhid Juma Circle, I strive to create spaces where voices like mine can be heard and celebrated, where every laugh shared is a step closer to understanding and acceptance.

I am a proud resident of the Twin Cities, where the vibrant community has been both my canvas and my inspiration. Here, I’ve found the strength to be my most authentic self and the platform to advocate for the issues close to my heart, from LGBTQ+ rights to social justice and beyond.

My journey is shared here on this platform, inviting you to explore the intersections of my life, work, and advocacy. This space is not just about showcasing my achievements but is an invitation for dialogue, collaboration, and community building. Whether you’re here to discover more about my professional endeavors, book me for an event, or simply learn about the causes I hold dear, I welcome you. Let’s inspire each other and work together towards a more inclusive and joyful world.
